Bates Nut Farm is the premier pumpkin patch in San Diego but it doesn’t have to be Halloween for you and your children to enjoy a great day here. The 100-acre farm has a petting zoo, picnic tables, parks and a beautiful setting. The market is full of mouthwatering foods from candies, homemade fudge and so many nuts that you might go nutty just looking at them. Your children will get a kick out of the peanut butter machine as it whips fresh peanuts into creamy peanut butter right before their eyes. There is also an enormous gift shop featuring home and garden items, stationery, jewelry, candles collectibles and so much more. The mission of the California Wolf Center is to educate the public about North American gray wolves and the importance of having wolves in our world. The center’s pack of Alaskan gray wolves known as the “Denali Pack” are considered ambassadors because they have played such an important role in helping researchers to better understand the role wolves play in the wild. The center hosts informative programs and allows you the chance to see their wolves up close. You and your kids will find a visit here to be a unique, fascinating, and stimulating experience.

Okay so you have a toddler or preschooler that is bored at home and you are looking for something that is fun, interactive and can keep them entertained for hours. Well then the La Habra Children's museum is the place to go. They have a children’s mini market a carousel that runs every half hours for kids under 6 and in the same room a real OCTA bus that the kids can horse around in. There is a stage/dress up area that is a big hit with the preschoolers and also a preschool play room which contains a tree house, kitchen, dolls, toy area and a storytelling corner with many books. There is also a real caboose that you can board and explore. The museum is located on a park so after a fun day at the museum your kids can burn some more energy on the playground

Here’s a great aquarium to head to that is not only fun and of course educational and it won’t set you back much at all . The Cabrillo Aquarium is a smaller aquarium that is steps away from the ocean. Many people are unaware of it's existence. The Susan Lawrencz Miller Exhibit hall is home to three major environments- rocky shores, beaches and mudflats and Open Ocean. Your kiddos will be able to learn about the different marine life that lives in each habitat and much more. The aquarium is also home to an aquatic nursery and this was a big hit with our family. The nursery at the aquarium is staffed by the friendly and helpful volunteers. There is also a fun little craft area designed specifically for the kiddos. The aquarium has a exploration center and a ecological play area. In this area kids can dress up as different sea life and also able to put on a sea life puppet show. There is also a crawl in aquarium. You can crawl into a real life aquarium and be surrounded by different ocean life and never get wet!

The Orange County Zoo is located inside beautiful Irvine Park in the city of Orange. The Zoo is nestled among the majestic 477 acre wilderness park.
The Zoo's focus is on animals and plants native to the southwestern United States. Animals on exhibit include black bears, mountain lions, bald eagle, island foxes, ocelot, red-tailed hawk, great horned owls, porcupine, coyotes, turkey vultures, coati and more. The wildlife learning center provides outreach and onsite education in wildlife Biology. Its the largest outreach program in Los Angeles and the programs are taught by excellent biologist. The Imagination Workshop- Temecula's Children's Museum is a must stop for your kids. The museum is located in Old Town Temecula. The museum focuses around Professor Pennypickle and his Imagination Workshop. Your kids can explore each of the themed rooms and partake in hands on exhibits and gadgets. There are several themed rooms such as The Library - the kids will learn about time and travel and the kitchen- the kids will learn all about physics and chemistry. The Temucula Children's Museum is also a great place to visit because they break up the day into sessions. You can check out this cute museum without breaking your wallet.
